One of the aspects of a career in real estate that I absolutely love is the ability to work with so many wonderful people, (friends new and old). It is incredibly rewarding to be able to help guide, serve and care for people in their real estate endeavors, oftentimes repeatedly, over many years.
Having started in real estate in 1984 as a young adult, I have literally “grown up” in this business. Having the stability of a strong and compassionate company with the best local reputation for service and work ethics, has been very grounding for my career, and nothing sort of a privilege. I have enjoyed being a significant part of the success of our real estate family, with many thanks to our founder Richard (Dick) Badger and his business partner Brenda Leavitt, both at the helm when I came to their doorstep in 1989. Their strong roots and commitment to the Mt Washington Valley community provided a caring family environment with growth and opportunity which laid the foundation and framework for my success.
Andrew Smith, our new owner, provides a model of excellence, professionalism, and continuing education. Merged in 2021 and rebranded in 2022 as Badger Peabody & Smith Realty, we now have 8 offices throughout northern NH. Second to none, is also our incredible support staff we have with 20 dedicated employees supporting the efforts of our 60+ full-time real estate agents. Licensed in 3 states; NH, ME & VT, our regional presence extends our service areas to include even more lakes and mountains on both sides of the notch(es) and strengthens our abilities to provide the best opportunities and results to our customers and clients.
A commitment to serve the greater good has always been a cornerstone of my personal and business practice. Giving back has been a way of life and a direction I am drawn to with my involvement outside of the office. Locally, I serve as Co-Chair of the Community Service Committee for the White Mountain Board of Realtors (from 2000 to present), helping to raise awareness and money for the Thanksgiving Basket Project and End 68 Hours of Hunger. The NH Association of REALTORS® awarded their Good Neighbor Award in 2011 for my “Calendars for Charity”, a service project I ran 8 years as “There’s No Place Like Home” Photo Contest, benefitting 4 local charities. After 15 consecutive years, I earned a LIFETIME recognition in the Realtor’s National Honor Society. In 1991, I was honored to receive the White Mt Board’s “Realtor® of the Year” Award as President and received the State NH Business & Professional Women’s “Young Careerist Award”. 20+ years ago (2001) just after my cancer journey, I created the “Hands of Hope”, cancer survivor banner, gathering handprints and inspirations of survivors. We are on our 2nd banner which makes its way around the Valley to various cancer survivor events such as Jen’s Friends Hillclimb and Strides for Breast Cancer Awareness. I love living in a community with a wonderful volunteer base, which fills the year with events that directly enhances the lives of others. The Mt Washington Valley is a beautiful place to become involved in the things that matter most.
My personal interests include photography, skiing, hiking, biking, boating, travel, live music, cake decorating, cooking, art and noted community service work. Enthusiastic about always learning with topics in both real estate and personal development, I easily have a master’s level of education under my belt. I continue to fill much of my time with making a positive impact in this ever-changing world.
My very favorite pastime however is being the mother to three, now adults. Spending quality time with family & friends, raising kind and conscientious children and enjoying the beauty of the area’s lakes, rivers, mountains with people I care about, has made it a great life. Honesty, Integrity & Loyalty are cornerstone pillars that have allowed me to be successful in my career as well as creating a fulfilling life.
